Our verdict

It depends on your priorities

Two suites with a free CRM at the bottom and very different reasons to pay for the next step.

TechBigs verdict, published Sep 4, 2026

Zoho CRM's free edition is the more complete starting point for a small sales team, with three users and the standard reports. HubSpot's free tools suit a team that expects to grow into marketing and service on the same record, and is willing to pay Sales Hub prices to do it.

What the free editions hold

Zoho CRM is free for up to three users and includes contact management, standard reports, the mobile apps and 5,000 API calls a day. HubSpot offers its CRM core free: contacts, deals and conversations on one record, with pipeline management, email tracking, meeting scheduling, forms and a reporting dashboard. Its published limits are on seats and features rather than on a user count, and the paid Sales Hub tiers are where the seats and the advanced features live.

What you are really buying above the free line

Zoho's paid editions are bought monthly or yearly in several currencies and stay within CRM: more automation, more customisation, more reporting. HubSpot's paid tiers buy a platform rather than a CRM. Marketing, service and content products share the same customer record, which is the argument for the price and the reason the bill grows in a way a CRM licence does not.

Where the price is not verified

Neither vendor's paid tier prices could be read from a page an automated client can fetch, so this catalogue records the free editions with their published limits and says the paid prices are not verified rather than showing an estimate. Both publish the paid tiers on their own pricing pages, which is where a buyer should read them before committing.
