Vendors in this category meter output in at least four different units. This is what each one publishes, read on 5 September 2026.
Plans that state minutes
These are the easiest to size, because the vendor has done the arithmetic for you.
Pictory: 200 video minutes at US$29 a month, 600 at US$59, 1,800 at US$199. Avatar minutes come out of the same pool: 40 of the 200, 400 of the 600.
Elai.io: 1 minute free, 15 at US$29, 50 at US$125.
Colossyan: 20 minutes a month free, then 30 minutes plus 10 of the newer model at US$59.
Steve AI: 100 minutes at US$10 and at US$30, 300 at US$40, 400 on the generative plan, 6,000 on a quoted enterprise plan.
Descript meters input rather than output: 60 minutes of transcription a month free, then 10, 30 and 40 hours.
Plans that state credits, with a translation
Synthesia publishes both: 1,200 credits a month free is described as about 10 minutes; 14,500 credits a year as about 120 minutes; 44,000 as about 360. That makes it the only vendor here whose credit pool can be compared with a minute-based competitor directly.
VEED publishes a rough translation too: 6,000 credits is described as about 1,500 AI videos, 30,000 as about 7,500, 180,000 as about 45,000.
Plans that state credits alone
HeyGen: 600, 1,000 and 1,500 credits a month at US$29, US$49 and US$149, with maximum video length of 30 minutes and 60 minutes by tier.
Runway: 125 one-time free credits, then 625, 2,250 and 9,500 a month.
Luma Dream Machine: 10,000, 40,000 and 150,000 a month.
invideo AI: 750, 3,900, 8,000 and 42,500 a month, on annual plans.
Fliki: 36 a month free, then 2,160 and 7,200 a year.
For these, the only honest advice is to generate something on the free tier or the cheapest plan and measure the credit cost yourself.
The limits that are not about volume
Three other ceilings show up repeatedly and catch people out:
- Maximum video length. HeyGen caps a single video at one minute free, 30 minutes on Creator and Pro, 60 on Business. Fliki caps exports at one, fifteen and forty minutes by tier.
- Export resolution. HeyGen states 1080p on Creator and 4K from Pro. Fliki states 720p free and 1080p on paid tiers.
- Seats. Most of these plans are for one person. Colossyan includes three; Synthesia adds guests rather than editors; VEED and Descript are priced per user.
