Our verdict
It depends on your prioritiesTwo general-purpose platforms with opposite pricing logic: Mailchimp charges for the contacts you keep, Brevo for the emails you send.
TechBigs verdict, published Sep 4, 2026
Pick Mailchimp when the list is small and active and you want audiences, seats and templates around it. Pick Brevo when the list is large but mailed occasionally, or when transactional email should sit in the same account.

What the prices actually count
Mailchimp's free plan stops at 250 contacts with 500 sends a month; Essentials is US$13 a month at the smallest contact tier and Standard US$20, both rising as the contact count grows. Brevo's free plan has no published contact ceiling on the page we read, and its paid tiers start at US$9 a month for 5,000 emails a month, moving to US$18 and then US$499 for 150,000 emails. If your list is 20,000 addresses that you mail twice a year, Brevo's counter barely moves while Mailchimp's tier does.
Where the feature sets differ
Both state a drag-and-drop editor, automation, segmentation and forms. Brevo's pricing page also states A/B testing, landing pages, transactional messages and advanced ecommerce features on the paid tiers; Mailchimp's pricing page does not list those, so we record them as not verified rather than as absent. Brevo also puts SMS and WhatsApp on the same account, with SMS credit sold separately.
Seats and teams
Mailchimp counts seats explicitly: 1 on Free, 3 on Essentials, 5 on Standard, unlimited on Premium. Brevo's Starter tier is single-user; ten seats are included at the Professional tier. For a team of three, that difference decides the tier before any feature does.
